My wonderful wife told me Tuesday evening that I needed to get out of the house for the night and go see Star Wars – Clone Wars. I won’t go into a long speech about how this makes her, hands down, the most wonderful woman on the planet, I think that is implied. So I hopped in the minivan, sans children, and went to catch the latest Star Wars movie in theatres.
I was a little bit apprehensive. I have heard mixed reviews about the latest installment of Star Wars, it seems however, that the mixed reviews follow much the same pattern as all Star Wars movies; critics don’t like it, average movie goer loves it. I went into the theater just hoping that I wouldn’t be disappointed. Read the rest of this entry »

I went with my buddy Kevin to go see Batman – The Dark Knight. We went on opening weekend and had to go to three different theatres until we finally found a 10:30pm showing that wasn’t sold out. I was pretty pumped, I had seen the trailers and read a few reviews and was all set to see some of these actors gave great performances. More than that though, I was really looking forward to being entertained by a great Batman movie. Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome to the Buffyverse. I have decided to begin my review of one of my all-time favorite TV Series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. For a “plethora” of reasons, as we will discuss over the course of these posts; I think that BTVS is one of the sharpest, deepest, most entertaining television shows to come out of the 90s. I have noticed that over the past few weeks, the posts on this blog getting the most attention have been the ones surrounding the Sarah Connor Chronicles show on Fox. I had not planned on discussing this show until the new season started, however due to the overwhelmingly obvious interest, I though I would just throw out a quick update on some of the things to look for in season 2. According to Wikipedia, “On May 13, 2008, CBS announced that Moonlight was officially canceled.” I watched each episode of the first season of Moonlight and had very mixed feelings about it. At the end of each episode of Moonlight I was always reminded of the movie The Princess Bride. Read the rest of this entry »

Dane Cook, if you don’t know who he is already then you must be living under a rock. He is a great comedian who over the last couple of years has made the jump from stand-up comedy to leading man in the motion picture industry. (Employee of the Month, Dan in Real Life, Good Luck Chuck) Let’s run this down real quick, Jessica Simpson, Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson… can this guy pick a script or what!
While his comedy is what originally made me a fan, I have never been disappointed in his movie ventures. No matter what context Dane Cook is always wildly funny and entertaining.
If you are one of those who likes to sample before you buy, then head on over to iTunes and check out the DaneCast. The DaneCast is a collection of Dane-bursts… sometimes only 10 minutes long, it won’t take him 2 minutes to have you laughing out loud. Read the rest of this entry »

My gosh, it has been far too long my fellow geeks. I wish that I had some unbelievably good reason why I have not been blogging. Truth be told I have been busy. (Define: Busy) – four letter word that does not nearly describe how crazy life has been over the last 6 months. I will not bore you with the personal details, quite frankly you probably don’t care. That’s not why you are here, all 6 of you that read this blog. Read the rest of this entry »
